return to list of articles by Donna Palmieri D’Amore   At various times in our lives, many of us receive what are generally referred to as “recurring” dreams. These are dreams which have substantially similar themes, and which occur repeatedly over a certain period of time. Some people are puzzled by recurring dreams, and may even consider them to be annoying; something of a nuisance. Without an awareness of the deeper significance which these remarkable dreams contain, a person might have difficulty understanding why they continue to be “plagued” by identical or very similar dreams over and over again. Well, let’s explore this a bit. The answer is actually quite simple: recurring dreams are likely to continue until the recipient discovers the true meaning of the message which is being given, or until the underlying situation resolves of its own accord. If these dreams are looked upon as gifts from our spiritual helpers, rather than as perplexing nocturnal occurrences, we may find the window into our souls opening up just a little bit more.  A young friend of mine told me that during the time he was dating a former girlfriend, he received a series of dreams in which this young lady was unfaithful to him. This naturally made him uneasy and triggered an internal alarm. He decided to tell his girlfriend about the dreams, however she discounted them, telling the young man that he was paranoid; they were just crazy dreams. Interestingly, she did not deny the implication, but simply rejected his dreams as “silly,” and ended the discussion. When this young couple ultimately broke up a few months later, it turned out that she had indeed been unfaithful to her boyfriend during the relationship. He had essentially been tipped off to the situation via the recurring dreams. Another young woman shared that she had received a number of dreams which involved her first serious boyfriend. While this at one time was a very significant relationship for her, she is now married with a family, and had not thought about this former love for several years. The situation was disturbing for the woman, as she did not understand why she kept having dreams which featured her ex-boyfriend in a number of scenarios. During an interpretive session, we were able to discern that there were unresolved issues relating to her former love which she needed to put to rest within herself. Further, this man needed healing light, love and prayers in his personal life, and she could choose to send out this positive energy toward a man who held a special place in her heart. Discovering the real meanings set her mind at ease. Not only was she able to acquire clarity on a situation which had been troubling her, she also was able to help someone she once cared deeply for, in her own private way and from a place of compassion. Embracing the concept that there are no real coincidences in life, and that all things happen for a reason, may lead one to a new perspective about recurrent dreams. There are messages which your spirit helpers are attempting to communicate to you. The fact that the dreams are repeated indicates that your guides consider certain messages to be of importance; they want you to “get” it! Think of how much God and your spirit guardians love you, as they patiently continue to reach out to you with lessons and messages. If you are the recipient of recurring dreams, interpreting them may help you to put the pieces of a puzzle together. You will see bewilderment turn into illumination. Let the light shine into your soul, and open yourself up to receive these glimpses of enlightenment which your angels and spirit guides wish to share with you. Surprises and hidden treasures indeed await those who dig a little to uncover them.
