return to list of articles by Donna Palmieri D’Amore   As a result of several conversations with friends who have awakened to dreams of famouse people, it became apparent that an article on “celebrity sightings” was in order. I realized that at one time or another many people will receive dreams of well known stars, and without having an understanding of a deeper significance, would most likely chalk these dreams up to fantasy or an overly active imagination. As with all things spiritual, there is more to these star studded dreams than one might surmise. The experience of having dreams in which celebrities appear is quite common, and can be fun as well as exciting. As dreams oftan play out like scenes from a Hollywood movie, they take on an even more surreal quality when genuine stars put in an appearance. Contrary to what many people think, we do not usually receive dreams which include celebrities simply because they are the object of our desires. You can spend all day fantasizing about a certain person, but that does not mean he or she will appear in a legitimate dream. Trust me, if it were that easy, I would have received command performances by the likes of Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and Mike Piazza by now - and that has yet to occur! The basic premise that dreams are essentially gifts from the spiritual realm applies to these visions as well. No matter how strange, weird, silly or confusing our dreams may be, they are given to us for a reason and serve a valid mystical purpose. It is no different with “celebrity sightings.” Dreams which include famous people are not mere fantasies, figments of your imagination, wishful thinking or products of overactive hormones! Nor do these dreams occur simply for our entertainment. They are brought to us for specific reasons, and those reasons will vary depending upon what the entire scenario of the dream entails.  There is one recurrent theme which appears to be common in many “celebrity sighting” dreams, and an important message which comes through: Celebrities are human beings, just like you and me. Many people are not cognizant of the fact that celebrities are still mortals who live, breathe and traverse this earth just as we do. Famous people often long to be able to do something as simple as walk into a grocery store or movie theatre in peace. They have families and friends who share their lives, but they have to deal with constantly being accosted by well-meaning yet insentive people seeking their attention or autograph. While the vast majority of celebrities appreciate and respect their fans, there are times when they wish to be regular folks like the rest of us. While such a dream initially may be entertaining and interesting, the underlying purpose is often to assist the recipient in learning how to deal with famous people in a more natural way should they happen to cross paths in the future. It is a useful reminder to all of us that should one encounter a person of fame, to treat them with the understanding, compassion and respect that every individual is entitled to. Honor that person, and yourself, by behaving in a manner befitting the situation.  Another important component to “celebrity sightings” in dreams is that the individual may be in need of prayers and healing energy. Part of my healing work is to interpret dreams which people need assistance with, and to provide them with the messages and lessons which come through. Sometimes when a celebrity appears in a dream, the main reason may very simply be that he or she needs love or prayers. For myself, when a celebrity pops into one of my dreams, one of the first things I do upon awaking is say a prayer, sending love and light toward that person. On a less frequent basis than with other types of dreams, there are some individuals who receive recurring dreams in which the same famous person shows up on several separate occasions. The underlying significance of experiencing a series of these types of dreams will vary, depending upon what is going on in the life of the person who receives them. Believe it or not, such dreams may actually turn out to be prophetic. In these instances, the recipient is being equipped in advance to handle a real-life encounter with a celebrity visitor. These dreams will serve to be preparatory in nature, so that one has an opportunity ahead of time for working through how to interact with a famed person, should just such an occasion occur in the future.  The purpose of this article has been to offer a fresh perspective with regard to the luminaries of our world, and perhaps to provide illumination into the deeper meanings which rest beneath the surface of our own private screenings. Should you receive a “celebrity sighting” in some of your future dreams, by all means enjoy the experience, but be aware that there is a more subtle message which is being presented for your consideration.
